Welcome!

Hi!

My name is Caitlin Roll! I am (almost) 22 years old, a senior at UCF, and have been a member of River Run since 2001. I've struggled with my own weight and eating habits my entire life--ESPECIALLY the exercise!!--but in the last few years I have finally found something that works for me, and those are the things I want to share with you through this ministry.

I spent a year abroad in Germany as part of my studies and as you can imagine, my eating habits suffered... when I got back...well.... the mirror showed NO mercy, either... so I embarked on my own journey to get off those pesky pounds once and for all! I was tired of thinking about it, tired of looking at my closet every day wondering what would fit, tired of being tired, tired of feeling underconfident, tired of overeating!!!... it was hard and I STILL struggle with eating (especially cake and cookies!), but in six months I lost a total of 18 lbs...through working out at home and watching my portions. You can see pics of the progress here.

The Healthy4Him ministry began in my mind in September 2008 and kicked off at River Run in early January of this year. It has been steadily growing ever since! Since recognizing the need for better health in myself, God has been showing me the need in the community as well--the need to get moving and get our hearts and bodies healthy so we can serve Him and others to our highest potential!

Now we're trying to get the word out any way we can! So, if you got our little yellow list of "10 Things to do THIS WEEK for Weight Loss and Better Health", and decided to check out our website, well, then, our latest scheme worked :-) Hopefully you got to talk to either me or Brian Ceely and got your name on the email mailing list. If you didn't, send me an email at caitlinroll@gmail.com. I'll email you periodically (max. 2x per week), but mainly wanted to get everyone's email addresses in case there was a change or cancelation in the schedule.

Check out the FAQs and definitely check out www.walkathome.com ... those are the aerobic workouts we will be using most, because they are FUN, easy, and easily adaptable to any fitness level. My best advice is to just come check it out for yourself :-)

Remember: our souls are more free to love and serve when they aren't being dragged down by a body whose discomfort demands constant attention! The absolute BEST gift we can give others is to take care of ourselves!

Have a great week, remember to email me with any questions (or look me up on Facebook!)... and we will see you on Saturday to sweat, sweat, sweat!!
